Are you a spouse new to the military? Are you new to San Antonio? Maybe you have been around for a while but haven’t had the time to get involved with other spouses.
Are you concerned about a current or future deployment? Are you looking for opportunities to serve your community? Perhaps you need some adult conversation, yet an opportunity for the children to play and meet friends. Did you just leave your best friend or your family at the last duty station?

1) Would you rather go to a play or musical?
A play. I do like some musicals, for example I loved seeing Cats and Sweeney Todd, but on the whole I enjoy plays more. A lot of musicals really grate on me!
2) If money was no object, what would you do all day?
I thought about this for ages, and actually, cheesy as it sounds, I really love the life I have. I’m lucky that finances already allow me to stay at home with our children. If money was no object I’d probably do pretty much what I do now, but pay someone to do all my cleaning and chores I hate so I have more time with the kids, and guilt-free time to read and do other hobbies. Though being able to sit on a beach somewhere sounds good too!
3) What is something you miss about being a kid?
Naps. I seriously wish I could have back every nap I refused to take as a child.
4) If you had to change your name, what would you change it to?
Mrs Tom Hardy? Haha! I’m actually ok with my name. I like the fact that it’s different enough that there aren’t 10 people everywhere I go with the same name, but not unusual enough that I stand out like a celebrity baby.
5) What is the oldest item you own?
A little chair in my bedroom that I got from my grandparents house when they both passed away. It’s all I have that was theirs, and I know it’s over 100 years old. My biggest cat thinks it’s his though.
6) Big fish in little pond or little fish in big pond?
Little fish in a big pond. I like to kind of blend in and be able to explore in my own time. I hate the attention all being on me.
7) What is your favorite way to exercise?
I love swimming but don’t get much chance. I do vinyasa yoga when I can, and I love walking. I walk absolutely everywhere I can and soak in the sunshine. And running around with the kids.
8) Who is the first person you call when you have a bad day?
My husband. He’s my rock, and accepts me for who I am, good and bad. So if I’m having a day where I just want to crawl under the table with a glass of wine, he always cheers me up and makes everything seem better, and all the things that we’re bothering me seem less important.
9) Who is your favorite superhero?
I have to just pick one?! Erm… I’m taking two. But for the same reason so it’s not *entirely* cheating. Iron Man and Batman. Both are superheroes without obvious superpowers, they just use their wealth for the greater good to help others. Iron Man probably tips the scale at least in the movies as I love his smart comments.
10) Video game or board game?
Board games, but I play both. I play video games on my own, and my husband and I often play board games together (we have a cringe worthy large collection!). Plus I play board games with the kids, and board games also often come out when people come round for dinner.
