Are you a spouse new to the military? Are you new to San Antonio? Maybe you have been around for a while but haven’t had the time to get involved with other spouses.
Are you concerned about a current or future deployment? Are you looking for opportunities to serve your community? Perhaps you need some adult conversation, yet an opportunity for the children to play and meet friends. Did you just leave your best friend or your family at the last duty station?

Tell us about yourself: I met my husband at Moody AFB in South Georgia. I grew up in Valdosta and that was his second duty station. We have been married for 5 years and have Kansas (2 years old) and I am due with baby Zander in the middle of August.
We love the bows, tell us why you wear them: I’ve always been into accessories and in college the bows started out tiny and just kept getting bigger. Strangely enough I never pushed bows/headbands on Kansas when she was younger but now that she has hair I’m super excited to be able to do her hair! I have about 20 right now but Kansas and I don’t mind sharing with each other.
Favorite Disney character: Ariel from The Little Mermaid, she is my all time favorite since I was a kid.
What did you want to be when you grew up: I have always wanted to be a dental hygienist, I LOVED going to the dentist as a child. I graduated and received my license in 2012.
What would you like to say to new members who just joined? I am thankful for WHA and the playgroup. I have met so many amazing parents and children. Kansas was very shy when we first joined and now she is a social butterfly. I love to watch her grow and change, she communicates very well and I believe it is from all the interaction of being active in playgroup. Children learn from each other. In the military lifestyle you can either sit at home and sulk about how you miss your last base or family etc, or you can put yourself out there and make friends that are like family! As an MTI my husband works long hours at odd times of day so we try and stay busy while he’s gone. Playgroup has been such a blessing all around for our family.
